3.
Can you engrave photos on
ANYTHING?
Well..."almost" anything! We can engrave photos on wood, stainless
steel, aluminum, dark marbles and granite and most other fine grained
materials. While we have the ability to engrave photos on glass and
other clear items, we don't recommend this for very many photos. Glass
only shows one shade...it's either cut, or not cut...similar to line
art that is either black...or white...no shades of gray. So most
photos don't look very good etched into glass or clear objects.
However, if the photo can be converted to pure black and white line
art, and still be pleasing, there is a good chance it can be engraved
on glass. This is the exception though, rather than the rule. Most
photos would not fall into that category.

6.
What is a virtual sample?
A
photographic simulation of the actual layout that we use to engrave
the items. You can view these and make changes before the actual item
is engraved.

7.
What type of artwork do you
need?
We can
work with most graphics formats. Our preferred format would be BMP,
but we can work with any of the following: PSD (Photoshop), JPG
(Jpeg), GIF, TIF and PCX. The resolution of the images needs to be as
high as possible...the better the resolution, the better the image
will engrave. We suggest a minimum of 300 dpi and an image size as
large or larger than the finished engraving will be. If you E-mail a
website quality, small image, it may work, but it may not result in
the best quality engraving possible. We can touch up, edit, redraw
most images so it is ok if an image is not perfect, but like any other
system, garbage in, garbage out...If in doubt...just
contact us.
